Swine Erysipelas and Pasteurella live vaccine

Swine Fever, Erysipelas, and Pasteurella multocida live vaccine

Combined Classical Swine Fever, Swine Erysipelas, and Swine Pasteurella multocida Vaccine, Live (Tissue Culture Origin + Strain G4T10 + Strain EO630) offers comprehensive protection for pigs against swine fever, erysipelas, and pasteurella multocida disease. The vaccine ensures immunity for up to 12 months against swine fever and 6 months for erysipelas and pasteurella multocida. Administered through intramuscular injection, it is suitable for pigs over half a month old, with a booster shot recommended for younger pigs.

Product Description

This live multivalent vaccine combines protection against three economically significant swine diseases:

  • Classical Swine Fever (CSF) – a highly contagious viral disease with high mortality and major trade impact
  • Swine Erysipelas – a bacterial infection causing septicemia, arthritis, and skin lesions
  • Swine Pasteurellosis (Pneumonia) – a respiratory disease leading to reduced growth performance and increased mortality

The vaccine integrates an attenuated rabbit-adapted CSF virus strain with live bacterial antigens (Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae and Pasteurella multocida) to induce both cellular and humoral immune responses.

By combining viral and bacterial protection in a single formulation, this product significantly reduces vaccination frequency, labor costs, and animal stress, while ensuring comprehensive herd immunity.

It is particularly suitable for commercial pig farms, breeding operations, and integrated production systems where efficient disease control and cost optimization are critical.

Immunization Program

  • Suitable for weaned piglets and growing pigs
  • Single-dose primary vaccination
  • Booster recommended:
    • For early-weaned piglets: ~2 months after weaning

Duration of Immunity:

  • Classical Swine Fever: 12 months
  • Erysipelas & Pasteurellosis: 6 months

Dosage & Administration

  • Route: Intramuscular injection
  • Reconstitution: Dilute with sterile normal saline to 1 dose/mL

Dosage:

  • Weaned pigs (>2 weeks post-weaning): 1.0 mL per head
  • Early-weaned piglets:
    • 1.0 mL per head
    • Booster required ~2 months after weaning

Composition

  • Attenuated rabbit-adapted Classical Swine Fever Virus: ≥750 RID/dose
  • Live Swine Erysipelas (G4T10 strain): ≥5.0 × 10⁸ CFU/dose
  • Live Pasteurella multocida (EO630 strain): ≥3.0 × 10⁸ CFU/dose

Product Characteristics

  • Appearance: Spongy, loose pellet
  • Rapid dissolution into a uniform suspension after reconstitution
  • Designed for efficient field application

Safety & Adverse Reactions

  • Generally safe under proper use conditions
  • Possible mild hypersensitivity reactions in rare cases
  • Emergency treatment (e.g., epinephrine) should be available during vaccination

Precautions

  • Store and transport under 2–8°C (cold chain required)
  • Vaccinate healthy animals only
  • Do not vaccinate:
    • Newborn piglets
    • Weak or diseased pigs
  • Antibiotics restriction:
    • Avoid antibiotic-containing feed 7 days before and 10 days after vaccination (critical for live bacterial components)
  • After reconstitution:
    • Use within 4 hours
  • Apply strict aseptic technique during injection
  • Dispose of vaccine residues and materials according to biosafety regulations
