Duck Hepatitis Virus Vaccine Description
This live attenuated vaccine is developed using the CH60 strain of duck viral hepatitis virus (DHV-1), providing effective protection against one of the most acute and fatal diseases in young ducklings.
Duck viral hepatitis is characterized by rapid onset, high mortality, and severe liver damage, particularly in ducklings under one week of age. Early immunization is critical to prevent outbreaks and minimize economic losses.
This vaccine is designed for dual application strategies:
- Direct immunization of ducklings
- Provides rapid onset of immunity, with partial protection developing within 3–5 days and strong immunity established within 7 days
- Pre-laying vaccination of breeding ducks
- Enables transfer of maternal antibodies, protecting newly hatched ducklings
- Offspring receive effective passive immunity approximately 14 days after maternal vaccination
The vaccine provides more than 1 month of protection in ducklings and up to 6 months in breeding ducks, making it suitable for both short-cycle meat production and breeder programs.
