Duck Plague Vaccine Description
This live attenuated vaccine is developed from a chicken-embryo-adapted duck plague virus strain (CVCCAV1222), providing effective protection against duck plague (duck viral enteritis), a highly contagious and often fatal disease affecting waterfowl.
Duck plague is characterized by vascular damage, hemorrhages, digestive tract lesions, and high mortality rates, leading to severe economic losses in both commercial and backyard duck production.
The vaccine provides rapid onset of immunity within 3–4 days post-vaccination, making it highly suitable for emergency-risk areas and routine preventive programs.
It is effective for both:
- Adult ducks, offering long-term protection up to 9 months
- Ducklings, providing early-life protection for approximately 1 month
This flexibility makes it suitable for both short-cycle meat production and long-term breeding systems.
Immunization Program
- Ducklings:
- Early vaccination for initial protection (short-term immunity)
- Adult Ducks (>2 months):
- Single-dose vaccination
